We know white papers are fairly long documents, but what about case study length? Case studies are used by a prospect to satisfy themselves that your product solved the problems of somebody like them. They are basically long testimonials that are written in a more objective voice than using direct quotes. In fact, you might consider them demonstration testimonials.
These documents are considerably shorter than white papers, usually about a page to a page and a half. Often, the only place case studies are found is on the company website. That doesn’t have to be the case, but with everything going digital, there’s no reason to expect that to change.
The positive aspect of online case studies is the ability to use embedded multimedia. Using photos is obvious, but video is an even more powerful option. Video allows you to show your solution solving a customer’s problem. Because people are visual creatures, an embedded video might be the clinching argument.
Text, images, audio, and video can all work together to create a compelling package. While they aren’t particularly long documents, it can be about more than case study length.
