Are you using images in your content?
People are visual creatures, and content with color visuals, according to Hubspot, increase the probability of a user reading by 80%. Visual content is 40 times more likely to be shared on social media. Both of these statistics can be found on this Hubspot report.
If you’ve been following these posts, you’ll notice each and every one has an image attached. I use an image related to the major theme of the post. In this case, it’s a picture of a goat eating grass in a photo.
I almost always use public domain images in the blog, often grabbed at Pixabay. Finding images with a clever tie to the topic is fun, and makes the blog post both more interesting and more appealing. Appealing increases the odds people will click through to the content and read.
Often, when you expand the reach of your content by cross-posting to social media, the images will pass through, adding to more compelling social media stream, as well.
If you aren’t using images in your blog posts, it could be a mistake. Try adding images and see if your response rate goes up.
