Keep on keepin’ on. It’s something we hear from time to time, but sometimes it’s just what you need to hear.
Watching the Grammy awards this evening, I was struck by the acceptance speech by Taylor Swift and her message to young women. Her paying it forward with words of encouragement (and a well-deserved but subtle dig at Kanye West) speaks well of those who achieve success and reach back to help those not as far along the path to success.
Keep on doing your thing. Don’t let anyone tell you it can’t be done. Do it your way. Those are words that freelancers, artists, writers, and musicians all need to hear repeated from time to time.
Going the independent route isn’t an easy path. There are times when it seems like the world is crashing in on you There are times when all the effort seems for nothing. It’s in those times we need to keep on keepin’ on.
I heard a quote recently, I forget to whom it is attributed. A successful person is just a failure who tried one more time.
